Semiotic Logo-Apple

As everyone can see, this is the logo for the very well known Apple computer company. All around the world, people recognize this image, whether it is multi-colored or outlined in white on a black background, the symbol of the apple with a bite taken out of it is universal because to many, it represents a company that is about innovation and being different. This logo in particular, to me, has a futuristic vibe, looking into what is to become of technology. In advertisements, commercials, and on the cover of laptops, this Apple logo has become an image that we all know and have grown to love because of what the company stands for and the quality products that they produce.

Semiotic Logo

Almost everyone recogonizes Virgin's logo. The virgin empire is made up of a variety of different enterprises, including Virgin Atlantic Airways, Virgin Records and even a Virgin soft drink. Because it is used for a variety of different things owned by the company, the logo is very simple, yet distinctive. The red color pops out and is able to seen from far distances. The type is bold and modern. Because the empire began with a record company, the logo needed to be very modern and appeal to hip and young customers. Although more popular in the U.K., Virgin's logo is recogonizable in it's simplicity.

M for what??

here's a semiotic logo which I'm pretty sure every one in United States and majority of the nations in the world would be able to recognize. Even without seeing the whole word, everyone knows that the big M stands for Mcdonald's. Mcdonald's symbolizes the typical American lifestyle; its goal is to provide the customers a "quality" fast food food to meet the demand of their impatient nature that have resulted from fast paced life. Mcdonald's logo is also globally reconigzed due to their expansion of franchise store in more than thirty nations. Although the logo may look mundane from an unbiased perspective, because of its success as a company it seems to look better than what it actually is.
