Semiotic Logo

Almost everyone recogonizes Virgin's logo. The virgin empire is made up of a variety of different enterprises, including Virgin Atlantic Airways, Virgin Records and even a Virgin soft drink. Because it is used for a variety of different things owned by the company, the logo is very simple, yet distinctive. The red color pops out and is able to seen from far distances. The type is bold and modern. Because the empire began with a record company, the logo needed to be very modern and appeal to hip and young customers. Although more popular in the U.K., Virgin's logo is recogonizable in it's simplicity.
