Semiotics of: Gatorade

I love this logo for its simplicity and hyper-boldness. That signature lightning bold screams "power-up", which is what gatorade is generally supposed to do for its drinkers. The colors are memorable, saturated, and work superbly with the white space and black shadowing, causing the symbol to stick well in peoples' minds. If you squint and look at the logo from a distance, you will notice that the shape is distinctive as well; even if I were to give you just outline of this logo, you will still be able to tell me what company it represents.
